Finding Joy in the Journey
If you’re navigating the wild rollercoaster of Sandwich Season, chances are you and I have a lot in common. My Sandwich Season began in my mid-forties while still raising teens. Be encouraged! I’ve been there, done that, and found a way to not only survive, but enjoy the journey and carve time for my own passions!
Through it all, I've learned a secret:
Even in the chaos, God is up to something good.
He has a way of dropping little “joy gems”, just when I need them most. (In fact, my Sandwich Season mantra is, “I’m so glad God doesn’t let everything be terrible at once!” LOL. Whether it’s an unexpected text of gratitude from my son-in-law or finding 10 minutes of peace when the house is quiet, those moments of grace are what keep me going.
Now, I’m on a mission to share that message of hope with other Sandwich Season mamas. Because let’s be real – this stage of life isn’t for the faint of heart. We need all the encouragement (and comic relief) we can get!
When I’m not busy caregiving, writing, or babysitting, you can find me indulging in some of my favorite hobbies.
My husband and I love to hit the open road in our RV, exploring new destinations or traveling to our Florida residence. There’s nothing quite like the calming rhythm of waves lapping at the shore to soothe my soul.
Of course, no day is complete without a little mischief. Whether I’m pulling pranks on my grandkids or trying to keep my houseplants alive, I believe laughter is the best medicine. And when I need a break from the real-world drama, you can bet I’m diving into a good historical fiction novel.
So, friend, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the demands of Sandwich Season, know that you’re not alone. I’m right here with you, navigating this crazy journey one joy gem at a time.
